Today’s Meeting
Hello Rotarians! Today, Eddie Moreno is scheduled to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and our invocation will be presented by Jane Lax. Our speaker today will tell us about the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, which is home to some of the finest automobiles in the world.
What’s New?
On November 5, we inducted Dr. Cynthia Herrera into the club. Dr. Herrera is the Director of the STEM Program (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) at Oxnard College. Her classification will be Community College Administration.
Welcome Cynthia!
Comings and Goings
Gary Davis has been away, this time in Singapore, on his most recent outing with WASC. We wish him safe travels. Fun Fact: did you know Singapore is actually made up of 1 main island, with 63 others, most of which are uninhabited? $585 you say? That’s what our Tom McGrath Memorial Scholarship Fund donation drive is up to. Do I hear $600? . . . . Quebec and Vermont? Rob Foster . . . London and Paris? Phyllis Throckmorton . . .

This Day in History
This day in 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered one of the most memorable speeches in American history, the Gettysburg Address. The speech was presented at the dedication of a military cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In the midst of the war, the President brilliantly and movingly reminded a war-weary public why the Union had to fight, and win, the Civil War. Bonus points: how many words in the Gettysburg Address?
