Let’s get the holidays off to the right start by joining our own Patrick Mullin, who is being honored this year as Grand Marshall of the Oxnard Holiday Parade! The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. on December 1, and will take a route of approximately 1.5 miles through downtown Oxnard, on A, 5th and C Streets.
This is just the latest well-deserved recognition for Patrick, who has previously been honored as Oxnard’s Distinguished Citizen (2012), the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce Board Member of the Year (2005), and Man of the Year (2008). Patrick has volunteered as Festival Director of the California Strawberry Festival for the last three years, and served as President of this Club in 2004.
Don’t forget that our club will be participating in the parade, and that we need a total of four walkers to walk the route and represent the club. Patrick, his wife Sherry and daughter Shana will be riding in the vehicle, but at least four of us Rotarians can enjoy the sights and sounds of marching bands, equestrian units, floats and classic cars, along with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
This year’s Grand Marshall of the Oxnard Holiday Parade is Patrick Mullin. Patrick has been honored as Oxnard’s 2012 Distinguished Citizen by the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce for his dedication to volunteer service and giving back to our Community.
In the vehicle he is joined by his lovely wife, Sherry and daughter Shana.
Patrick is a combat veteran of the Vietnam war where he served a helicopter pilot platoon leader and was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal with 13 Oak Leaf Clusters.
Since moving to Oxnard 11 years ago Patrick has served as Oxnard Rotary Club President (2004), Chairman of the Board for the Oxnard Chamber (2007), Volunteered as Festival Director of the California Strawberry Festival for the past three years, and is currently a Planning Commissioner for the City of Oxnard. Patrick is also an Oxnard Ambassador and will become their 2013 Consul General.
Patrick has also been honored over the years by the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce: In 2005 he was Chamber Board Member of the Year; his hotel, the Marriott Courtyard Oxnard , Small Business of the Year and he was honored as Man of the Year in 2008.
