Last Week’s Meeting
At last week’s meeting, we learned how diverse and impressive is the athletic prowess of our members. Gary Trow and his Masters water polo team made it to the Championships . . . Mike Barber accepted the invitation to dance in the Oxnard Salsa Festival this summer, watch for Salsa Santa, Christmas in July!!
And just as impressive, congratulations to Eddie Moreno and his wife, expecting their first baby in September!!
Norm Bernstein updated us on the successful Interact event with 3 separate kindergarten classes at Brekke School. Watch for more upcoming events in the Fall once the new school year begins.
Our speaker last week was Susan Smith, President and CEO of the Oxnard Convention and Visitor Bureau. Susan filled us in on the attractions and sights right here in our own backyard, and encouraged us to take advantage of the millions of unused vacation hours that go waste every year. Tourism is an important part of our local economy, bringing visitors that stay at our hotels, patronize our restaurants and attend events and festivals. Check out things to do over the summer here.
