DRAGG: Oxnard's Youth Automotive Afterschool Program

DRAGG is Drag Racing against Gangs and Graffitti... providing an alternative to gangs and graffiti through a positive learning opportunity, teaching youths responsibility and respect for others while working in a unique environment within the automotive industry and gaining hands on exposure, experience, and knowledge for career opportunities in automotive care. DRAGG is an innovative afterschool program in the City of Oxnard where Police Officers and people from the automotive industry mentor local high school students.  At-risk youth are provided a viable alternative to a life of gangs and graffiti through lessons learned at DRAGG that range from basic automotive repair to creative car customization.  It’s a new spin on an old idea; keep the youth focused on the future with positive influences and they will stay out of trouble. The program empowers individuals to make positive life choices, offering opportunities for continued education and employment.
Tickets are now available for the DRAGG Gala, September 29th, at the Commemorative Airforce Hangar in Camarillo Airport. The Gala includes Dinner, Live Music, Special Guests, Fund-Raising Auctions, and a Special Appearance by The Bat-Mobile!
